The classic WWII RAF sheepskin flying jacket was developed by an American, Leslie Leroy Irvin, who set up a company in 1926 in England to produce practical, hard wearing and super-warm jackets. The Greycar Flying Jacket is a unique, authentic reproduction of the Irvin flying jackets worn by WWII Spitfire pilots and Lancaster bomber aircrew. Made in England to individual order, only the highest quality sheepskin is used and premium quality North American hides are carefully selected and tanned to retain the appearance and warmth of Mr Irvin’s original, whilst being considerably lighter and more comfortable.
